Thanks to his training as an Engineer he had the opportunity to move to Amsterdam where he gained international experience working for the Dutch consultancy company DHV. Upon his return to Italy, in 1981, the new experience inspired Mr Caputi to transform the family studio into a broader and more structured operating company.

In 1983, Proger Spa was established; a company that will become one of the main players in Italy for engineering and project management of major infrastructures and construction works. Mr Caputi managed the company and its projects, in particular in the tourist marina of Pescara, in Abruzzo, at the time the largest tourist harbour of the Adriatic and still today the third largest in Italy.
